Our former president S. Avtar Singh Virk (dy. Sp. retired , Haryana Police), with the efforts of members of Ambala Publice education Society established a temple of la Ambala Public Sr. Sec. School in the year 1995.It was his dream to impart quality education with the latest teaching methodologies and aids at an offordable cost. Since 1995 APS has seen a stupendous growth both, in infrastructure and facilities being provided to the students. The school provides technology-aided learning- an amalgamation of traditional and morden values, under the able guidance. It has classes from Pre.nursery to 12th (with three streams Non. Medical , Commerce , Arts )

The latest educational techniques with new concepts in the process of teaching and learning have been adopted here. The entire Curriculum is activity based . This institution has changed the meaning of education from passive formal learning to fun learning through projects and direct experiences.

The aim of the school is not acquisition of knowledge alone but also the awakening of curiosity, the stimulation of creativity, the development of proper interests, attitudes and values, as well as the building & essential skills all through play way activities. Children enjoy group activity of building projects and the method is based on the laws of learning providing a great incentive to original creative work.

Close cooperation between the parent who is the first teacher and the teacher in the school who is the second parent is the very foundation on which vests the fruitfulness of the training is being imparted in this institution.

It has lush green grounds where students have ample opportunity to play various games. The classrooms are big , airy well lighted and techno savvy. The activity room , the play station, the art and craft room, the music and dance room, the smart classes, the computer room, the well equipped multidimentional library etc are well designed and comparable the best. The student teacher ratio is optimum and personalized attention is provided to all students.

Being an English medium school stress on spoken English is an important feature covered by the school. The school aims at providing child centred education. Each and every student is encouraged to participate in activities like sports, dramas, story feeling, recitation singing and dancing art and craft etc through the latest teaching aids.
